JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve monthly budget goals and new business targets
  • To be financially aware of the hotel’s objectives and do all possible to accomplish targets
  • To ensure hotel occupancy and average rate targets are sustained in line with projections detailed in the Annual Business Plan
  • To establish sales targets and highlight any variances with actual sales figures and recommend what action should be taken to remedy significant variances
  • To resolve all discrepancies among the staff of his/her department.
  • To maximize his/her personal contacts and inform the Director of Sales & Marketing or his/her designated person as approved by the management of any discrepancies observed in style and culture.
  • To follow and enforce the policies and manual of the Hotel.
  • Considering his/her role as a representative of the Hotel, he/she will conduct himself/herself correctly in a professional manner.
  • Set an example of honesty and professionalism inside and outside of the Hotel.
  • To ensure the profitability of his/her Department for short, medium and long term by assuming the total responsibility of the functions assigned to him/her with special emphasis on increasing sales, reduce expenditure, preserve and maintain the assets.
  • Implements all sales action plans related to his/her market areas as outlined in the Marketing Plan.
  • Attends major travel functions and promotional events to promote sales for the Hotel.
  • Establishes and maintains files on major hotel accounts he/she established in the Hotel and assists Director of Sales & Marketing or his/her designated person as approved by the management in maintaining the Sales Filing System.
  • Promotes and produces sales leads for other Hatten properties.
  • Plans and executes sales trips to major market areas and reports to the Director of Sales or his/her designated person as approved by the management on new potential market areas that should be covered.
  • Analyze market changes and, under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing, implements programs with the Sales Department to meet these changes, i.e. changes brought about by political, economic or competitive changes in the market place.
  • Assists in the execution of familiarization/site inspection trips to hotels by major clients.
  • Participates in weekly/monthly Sales & Marketing meeting.
  • Assists in implementation of effective sales systems and procedures that ensure efficient execution of all group meetings and functions and provides for the efficient functioning of the hotels local sales efforts, overall.
  • Responsible for dissemination of sales related information to other departments as appropriate.
  • Attends all pre-conference meetings, as required, arranged by the Banquet Sales Department and assists in the preparation of post-conference reports
  • Meets with all influential clients and ensures that pre and post conference meetings are conducted by the Banquet Sales Department to provide effective communications and feedback in regard to client needs.
  • To write your appointments whereabouts on whiteboard for emergency purpose.
  • Ensure all morning appointments and sales calls follow up are made and to be out in the field by 09.30am and report back to the hotel by 4.30pm.
  • Must attend weekly/monthly Sales & Marketing Sales meeting.
  • Maintain cordial inter-personal relationships with all departments.
