R&D Manager

Job Summary:

The primary function of the R&D department is to develop new products, which are essential if the company is to generate profits in the medium and long term. All products have a finite commercial life and this is particularly true in the microelectronics sector, where new technological developments are occurring continuously specifically in paint coating technology.

• To deliver & reengineer process flow to ensure new product are cost-competitive & consistently staying ahead of the market
• Lead new product development activities from inception to product launch and customer acceptance
• Provide leadership and guidance for non-routine problems requiring substantial judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Track project schedules in conjunction with product management preparing and monitoring the departmental budget
• Work with internal and external stakeholder to obtain necessary resources, resolve inter-departmental issues, and contribute toward project and organizational objective
• Internal communication: to discuss the current issues in operations, daily, weekly
• External communication: to experiment /develop new type of coating, weekly

Key Result Areas:

• Customer needs /future markets (Actively working to find and develop new types of coated fin for future market aligns with customer needs)
• Customer complain (Help to solve customer complain for coated fin issue)
• Cost down project (Develop cost-competitive paint)
• CI (Continuous improvement on paint for more added value)
• Self-improvement (Attend technical training at supplier side & Attend Engineer Development Programme)

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Others), Project Management, Research Development or equivalent.
• At least 8 – 10 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Required Skill(s): Planning Skills, Leadership Skills, Communication Skills Preferably candidate with Japanese speaking
• Preferably Manager specialized in Project or R&D equivalent
